Abstract: This study evaluates the effectiveness of apprenticeship programs in various sectors in Nigeria, examining their impact on skill development, employment outcomes, and industry collaboration. Apprenticeships provide structured training and hands-on experience, bridging the gap between education and employment by equipping participants with industry-specific skills and knowledge. The research aims to (1) assess the outcomes and benefits of apprenticeship programs for participants and employers across different sectors, (2) analyze factors influencing program effectiveness and sustainability, and (3) propose strategies for optimizing apprenticeship programs to meet industry needs and enhance vocational training outcomes. A survey research design is employed to gather insights from apprentices, employers, and program coordinators. A sample size of 400 participants will be selected through purposive sampling to represent apprentices, employers, and industry representatives in Benue State. Case studies will examine diverse apprenticeship models and their impact on workforce readiness. Findings indicated that apprenticeships improve skill acquisition, job placement rates, and industry collaboration but identified challenges in program accessibility and quality assurance. Recommendations include standardizing apprenticeship frameworks, expanding sector-specific programs, and fostering partnerships to ensure apprenticeships remain a viable pathway for vocational training and career development in Nigeria.
